On clitic doubling and argument ellipsis: Argument ellipsis as predicate ellipsis

The paper discusses a surprising and non-obvious case of interaction between clitic doubling and argument ellipsis based on the restricted availability of sloppy readings with pronominal elements and explores what it tells us about the nature of clitic doubling and especially argument ellipsis.
