Review of Figuring out figuration

_Figuring out figuration_ attempts to expand the coverage of rhetorical figures in linguistics but is held back by the inertia of the Cognitive Linguistics framework, which is preoccupied with a few tropes and scornful of other scholarly traditions. This review commends the authors for their intentions and for what they get right, but is largely a long airing out of complaints about figurative failings of Cognitive Linguistics.
