Perspectival possessor agreement in Finnish spatial PPs

In this short paper, we present experimental evidence for the idea that grammatical perspective is syntactically represented (in line with prior proposals in Nishigauchi (2014), Charnavel (2019), & Sundaresan (2012, 2018)). Specifically, we argue that possessor agreement in Finnish spatial PPs instantiates perspectival agreement and, furthermore, that this agreement is the overt exponent of a syntactic perspectival head. Our results represent one of the first pieces of morphological evidence for the syntactic encoding of grammatical perspective.
